Jennifer Love Hewitt, who just turned 29 this last February and not yet married to fiancé, Ross McCall, announced that she is ready to be a stay-at-home wife. The couple announced their engagement just last November after returning from a week-long getaway in Hawaii. Although there have been rumors speculating that the wedding date is steadily approaching, Hewitt denies the gossip insisting that she has barely had time to think about the wedding let alone set down the plans.
The actress has been busy shooting episodes for her ongoing role in the Ghost Whisperer. McCall, on the other hand, has been cast in a new film that has him busy from now until the end of summer. “This summer he’s doing a film, and I’m fixing up the house and making him dinner,” Hewitt said with a smile on her face while attending the Step Up Women’s Network’s Inspiration Awards. Later, she received an award for her philanthropic contribution.
Hewitt admits that while she’s not an old-fashioned girl, she can’t help but enjoy maintaining the home and taking care of her husband-to-be. “I’m not a 1952 kind of gal all the way ‘round, but little spurts of it are fine!” McCall agreed, telling People Magazine that he loved the idea of Hewitt waiting for him after a long day of work. The couple intends to plan the wedding during the evenings and on McCall’s days off.
Although they’re both involved in the wedding preparations, Hewitt has admittedly taken a more active role as she has more time to do so. However, she asks McCall for his opinion on everything, desiring a wedding that they both love and enjoy. “I think the biggest thing we’ve learned so far is we really want it to be ours. We want to celebrate it and enjoy it.”
Fans can definitely count a summer wedding for Hewitt and McCall out, as Hewitt as stated on more than one occasion that she doesn’t want to be a “sweaty bride.” Many insiders believe that the pair will wind up throwing a ceremony and reception somewhere on the Hawaiian island where the Scottish actor first proposed.
