New mom-to-be, Jessica Alba, and fiancé, Cash Warren, finally tied the knot in a small civil service on Monday afternoon. The actress was spotted at the Beverly Hill’s courthouse, hiding her bulging belly under a loose-fitting blue dress. She waited patiently for 40 minutes for the marriage paperwork to be processed before heading over to a courthouse staff member who would conduct ceremony. Alba was seen clutching Warren’s hand in excitement, with a look on her face that said, “Finally!”
The couple had decided that a casual wedding prior to the birth of their new baby was the right way to go. Alba, 27, didn’t even dress up to play the part – her hair was pulled back in a simple ponytail while Warren, 31, wore a white shirt and brown pants. Nobody was invited to witness the moment apart from for the courthouse staff.
Their daughter will be born this summer, much to Alba’s relief. The star confesses that she’s been in a “frantic nesting mode” trying to get the house ready for the new addition. Although the newlyweds are excited about the new baby, it was far from planned pregnancy. In fact, Alba, accustomed to life on the go, has been forced to calmed down significantly since becoming pregnant. “At the end of the day I am so tired I can’t function or speak and my eyes glaze over,” she told Fit Pregnancy. “This pregnancy has seriously mellowed me out, which is nice. I’ve been going, going, going for so long, it feels nice not to take things so seriously.”
The day following the hasty nuptials, Alba and Warren were spotted looking positively elated at the Celebration of Mentoring Awards and Gala at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The ceremony was in Warren’s honor, who was given the humanitarian award for producing a documentary on L.A. gang violence, Made in America. This is one of the last projects that the expectant parents will be pursuing prior to the birth of their new baby.
The quiet and casual wedding took place in the courthouse’s ceremony room, which was modestly decorated with white flowers and green silk foliage. An insider remarked that the bulging bride looked happy but also nervous. It could be that Alba was feeling those anxiety-induced butterflies most brides feel upon their first marriage. The two have known each other for 4 years, but as most Hollywood couples know, this is not a strong indicator that the match will last for a lifetime.
Despite strong feelings that Warren and Alba are headed for a bumpy road, the actress has every intention of making sure that they survive the hype and media. Coming from a very strong Catholic upbringing, Alba believes that she truly understands the importance of commitment and marriage. Hopefully that will be enough to see their marriage to end of time!
