American Pie actor, Jason Biggs, who eloped with girlfriend Jenny Mollen in a private ceremony just two months ago, is busy planning on encore to which friends and family will be invited. The news of the public celebration was revealed to People Magazine by American Pie costar Alyson Hannigan at a New York screening of How I Met Your Mother, a new hit CBS show.
“They’re going to have a proper wedding in Napa,” Hannigan says confidentially. “I have my invitation, but I don’t know if it’s going to work out, traveling-wise. I have to figure out the dates.” She’s hopeful that it all works out so that she can see her onscreen friends tie the knot the right way. “Hopefully I’ll get to go to the wedding and really celebrate it then.”
Biggs revealed the elopement to Hannigan through text messaging, proving that it is officially the new, hip way to communicate. Hannigan says, “I was like, this is a weird world when you’re finding out your friend eloped via text.” When it comes to the matrimonial union of Biggs and Mollen, there is no friend more excited than Hannigan. In fact, the former Buffy actress was already very close to both of them and says that she encouraged them to date. “After she (Mollen) met him, she called me. She was like, ‘What do you think about him?’ So of course, I raved about him.”
Biggs is most remembered for his role in American Pie, on which he plays an awkward Jewish boy struggling to make sense of his life. He has also starred in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Saving Silverman, Loser, and most recently, My Best Friend’s Girl, which is set to come out this summer. In fact, it was this latest onscreen role that brought Biggs and Mollen together a year and a half ago. After dating for about a year, Biggs asked Mollen for her hand in marriage, just last January.
Contrary to the character Biggs typically plays, he is not afraid of commitment and is emotionally and financially ready to settle down. Hannigan, who has been married for the past 5 years to Alexis Denisof, says the key to a happy marriage is adoring one another as best as possible and communicating. “And lots of hugs and kisses,” she adds slyly.
