How To Keep the Party Going All Night Long
By Georgina Clatworthy
If your concerned about keeping your guests entertained all through the day & well into the evening, here are some ideas to ensure a party atmosphere well into the small hours!
Go live!
Live entertainment such as a band or perfomer is a great way keep the atmosphere buzzing & your guests occupied.
Bring on the flowergirls
Give your flowergirls & page boys extra responsibility by equipping them with baskets of wedding favors to distribute to your guests as they mill around after the meal.
Surprise them!
Wow your guests by hiring some extraordinary performers such as acrobats or fire eaters. Look-a-likes, such as Elvis or James Bond will surprise your guests & they will enjoy telling all their friends afterwards they had sipped martini cocktails with 007.
You could also surprise them with a funky first dance routine, such as the Brubakers - see their wedding dance video below:

Take a Break
A break between the main events of the day will everyone a chance to relax, mingle & visit the rest rooms. If you can't plan breaks between events i.e between the afternoon reception & evening do, do let everyone know in advance.
Have a Playtime
Let your guests entertain themselves with ginat versions of popular games such as Jenga, Connect Four or Chess. These can be hired in & are great for outdoor weddings in particular. If your venue has facilities such as crazy golf, croquet or quoits ask for them to be made available to your guests aswell.
Get Interactive
Video & photo booths have been a growing trend over the last couple of years & are a regular feature of many wedding receptions. Set one up in the corner of the room & give your guests a couple of free passes as favors so they can have a video or photo momento of your day. You can also set up a video guestbook & ask your guests to record their personal messages for you to watch later.
Create a James Bond or Casino theme
Set up a mini casino with gaming tables & croupiers so guests can enjoy a flutter throughout the evening. You will not be allowed to play with real money so give your guests play money as favors instead.
Set Up a Cocktail Bar
For a glamourous way to welcome your guests you can't go wrong with a cocktail bar. Ask your venue if they can provide a cocktail service for you, with an experienced mixologist who can put on a show to wow your guests.
Guide Your Guests
Look at employing staff to guide your guests from area to area throughout the day, so no-one gets lost or ends up in someone elses party!
Steal Some Newlywed Moments
With all your guests happy, fed & entertained, steal some time to yourselves away from the hustle & bustle of the party. Sneak off somewhere quiet with a bottle of champagne & enjoy your first moments as Mr & Mrs!
