So my final entry about 2011 wedding trends another ten fantastic ideas to adopt into your wedding planning. From creating modern heirlooms to a different way of serving your wedding cake, 2011 is sure to see some very unique weddings!

• French Flair: serve up a menu filled with culinary treats inspired by French cuisine. Or if you want a sure fire way to add a chic touch to your wedding day choose French inspired patisseries for your dessert or wedding cake, such as madelines, financiers, meringues and show stopping gateau’s.
• Pop Off Cupcakes: Many 2011 wedding trends are centered around the wedding cake and one the most popular is set to be cake pops. These are tipped to oust cupcakes as the bride’s favourite cake choice with these super cute alternatives providing a great choice for wedding favors as well as the cake. They are quite simply cake on a stick and can be made in any style or design you wish, such as flowers, animals and even the bride and groom!
• Modern Heirlooms: For 2011 weddings many brides will be creating their own heirlooms for future generations. Pick out a precious piece of jewelry which you can wear on your wedding day and then hand down through your family. It’s a new version of the family heirloom trends such as wearing your mother’s pearls or bridal accessories.
• One is Never Enough: You may have seen this in many of the wedding and fashion magazines, wearing lots of different necklaces in varying lengths. It is a great way to jazz up a plain wedding dress and is a good way to be original and unique with your look.
• Big Bling: Whether it is bridal jewelry, statement rocks or chandelier earrings, one of the biggest trends this year will be plenty of bling added to your bridal look through accessories and jewelry. Use them to add color and drama to your look and to sparkle up a simple dress.
• Princess Ballerina: Whether it is the influence of the film Black Swan or designers love affair with all things ballet, many bridal collections for 2011 have ballerina influences with stunning tulle skirted creations. Keep your bridal look on-trend too with a soft color palette of mocha and pink.
• Vintage Maids: This year will see bridesmaids lining up in soft colors like rosewater, dusty rose and ivory, as well as muted pastel tones like soft corals and jasmine.
• Grecian Goddess: one of the biggest trends for bridesmaid dresses will be Grecian inspired designs such as one shoulder gowns or twisted back styles. These elegant floor length gowns will look lovely adorned with vintage style jewlery like brooches or pendants.
• Stepping Out: Bridal footwear hasn’t gone unnoticed either this year and there will be a big trend towards seventies inspired shoes with taller, thicker heels and platform peep-toe styles. Shoes will also sport soft tones with bronze highlights, heavy embellishment and dramatic styles.
• Perfect Nails: there are not one but two trends for bridal nails this year. The first is glamorous gold nails which will glimmer in the evening disco lights. And the second is mannequin hands which is a ‘barely there’ look in a subtle mushroom tone which will make your engagement rock really stand out!
