A Guide to Choosing the Right Bouquet

By Georgina Clatworthy

Essentially your choice of bouquet shape will come down to three styles:

The round or posy bouquet
The shower bouquet
The teardrop bouquet
Choosing the right one to flatter your body shape may seem confusing, so here is a guide to body shapes & what style to choose.

If you're curvy...

Curvy girls will have a big chest, un-toned arms & stomach & a wide back & shoulders.

Style tip: Big, bold & dramatic are the best choices. Go for a long shower or teardrop bouquet which will create an elongated line, making you appear slimmer. Avoid delicate & tiny flowers, large statement blooms work best.

If you're tall and thin...

Being tall, straight & narrow means you can go for whatever you like. You don't have much of a behind nor a visibly waist.

Style tip: Go for a large, glamourous bouquet to flatter your body shape. Choose bright colours & interesting shapes to create curves & hold the bouquet below the bust or at your waist to accentuate these areas.

If you're apple shaped...

Apple girls will carry wieght on the bust, waist & behind, although the arms & legs will look thin. Make the most of your slim limbs to look your best.

Style tip: Small posies in colourful flowers will flatter you best & will look lovely held under your bust, particularly when teamed with an empire line dress. This combination focus's peoples attention away from your stomach & behind & up towards your face.

If you're pear-shaped...

Girls of this shape are generally bottom heavy with a smaller top half. You do have a defined waistline with narrow shoulders & small bust.

Style tip: The key is to draw attention upwards. Small or large shower bouquets work well. Consider wearing a necklace with stones the same color as your flowers for maximum effect.

If you're square-shaped ...

Square shaped girls will be petite & muscular with an athletic build. Because you are short it is too easy to appear heavier than you actually are.

Style tip:A round bouquet would flatter your shape & add curves to your silhouette. Also consider loose arrangements of single, architectural flowers such as calla lillies.
