Married life is clearly a different kettle of fish altogether from whatever else you have ever experienced. In truth, it is some kind of pleasant sentence where you no longer have the freedom to do whatever you wish due to commitment to your man. So the few weeks before the big day should have a day where you take a break from the hectic preparations and running around, and having sometime to yourself to indulge in something that you really love to do. This will give your mind a much needed boost as you prepare for the big day as well as rejuvenate you after a long time of hassling preparing for the day. Some of the activities you can indulge include but not limited to the following.

Having a day at the spa is one indulgence that you can engage in. The whole day to yourself working on each and every part of the body will rejuvenate your physical and mental state. By the time the wedding day arrives you are fresh and good to go. And you don’t have to be alone. Get a bevy of girlfriends or even your bridesmaids where you go and have some fun girl-talk probably for the last time as you relax and enjoy your day.

You can also take a trip out of a town for a day just to be yourself. Think of a pleasant place to visit like some historical site, a day out on the beach or some random shopping out of town. This way you get your mind off the anxiety of the coming day and you get reloaded and refreshed.

In most marriages, once the knot is tied something changes and you automatically start finding yourself in husband-wife fashion as opposed to boyfriend-girlfriend manner. Dates become less frequent. So as a reminder of the very first flirting and dating days, you and your man can arrange to go on a date. Choose a joint that has pleasant memories for both of you and this will go a long way in keeping that passion you had for one another going even after you are married.

Another activity you can indulge in is just being alone for a whole day. This will give you time to reflect on how far you have come in your life and the milestones ahead to be achieved on another level. You can take this time to watch that famed movie you have always wanted to watch but never had the time. Or it could be a movie that you have watched but every time you watch it lifts your spirit and gives you the urge to move on. It could also be a book that inspires or is just plain fun and exciting.

There are those things that we enjoy doing whether there is a wedding coming or not. And the ultimate gift you can give to yourself before the big day is to engage in a favorite pastime. You may be alone or you may be with your girlfriends where you just release all your pressures and have the time of your life as you prepare for married life.
