Your wedding should be the most memorable day of your life and if you are able to conserve the environment in the process, then it makes it even better. This can include the clothes that you wear and everything else. Here are some ideas to help you out.

For your clothes and shoes
When looking for a gown and clothes for the groom, select a designer who works with organic materials. The materials should not be exposed to any dangerous chemicals during manufacturing. Use a gown from your mother or sister all you will need is some altering or re-styling. Another option would be to hire a wedding gown instead of buying a new one.

Wedding jewelry and accessories
Visit companies that use recycled metals and diamonds that are conflict free. The fabrics used on the jewelry should also be natural.

Hair and make-up
Choose a salon that only deals with natural products that are derived from minerals. If the salon does not have these kinds of products, buy your own and ask the stylists to use them on you.

Wedding Favors
Make wedding favors using natural materials that you can find locally .The ones made from paper should be from recycled material.

Your wedding cake
The baker should use eggs from free-range chickens. The flour, sugar and other ingredients should also be organic.

Candles and confetti
Select candles that are produced from bee’s wax or those made from soybean wax. Make confetti from flower petals, recycled paper or even seeds that can be eaten by birds. Make sure you avoid using real rice because it is bad for the birds.

Transportation during your wedding
The place that you have your wedding should not be too far to minimize on the costs but if you have to travel, use cars that use natural gas. Another option would be to get to the church in a horse and carriage or cycle. Instead of having your guests traveling in their own cars, get a coach to transport all of them.

Flowers
Get those flowers that have been grown locally because they will not need any transportation therefore saving gas and the environment. They should also be organic flowers.

Wedding entertainment
Make use of musicians who live in your area so that you cut down on transport. To minimize on the power that is used, hire musicians that use acoustics.

Location of your wedding
Choose a place that is near your home and where your guests will e able to get to without having to travel for long distances. The management of the place should also practice recycling and have policies that protect the environment.

Your honeymoon
When choosing a place to have your honeymoon select the places that are in your country and if you have to travel, go by train or ship instead of flying. During your trip, you can engage in some volunteering activities.

Photographs and videos during your wedding
Use digital cameras during your wedding so that less film and processing is needed. Have the pictures uploaded so that your friends and family can see them without having to process them.
