Warm Weather Guide
By Jason Hennessey

If you decided to conduct your wedding ceremony during summer, a season when the temperatures are high, then trying to keep yourself and your guests comfortable can be very challenging. It is therefore important to have a few tricks to use during this important day, especially if you are holding your wedding ceremony or the reception in an open place during the sunny days.
Have A Simple Gown
Gowns that come with a lot of layers and other details will always be heavy and therefore hot to where. Try to keep the gown as simple as possible. Avoid many complications by using simple column sheath gowns with less structured materials. A light gown will ensure that your body looses the heat that it absolves from the atmosphere, therefore leaving you feeling cool and well ventilated.
Relax You Hair
The scorching sun and the high temperatures that are associated with summer times can easily mess up any fancy, sturdy hairstyle. You may want to wear your hair up and let it flow off your shoulders if yours is an outdoor ceremony. You can enhance its look by using pin clips or some beautiful garland flowers. The same should be done with the other bridesmaids’ hairs to keep it simple and uniform.
Take the Photos Early
Pictures are not at their best when taken under the hot sun. If you are holding the ceremony in an outside venue, you can arrange to have the photo shot to take place early before the sun is high on the sky. It is possible since venues are ready before the wedding downs. Even if it means assembling the whole wedding party minutes before the actual ceremony, take the photos when it’s cool for better results. You can use the various decoration, flowers and others furniture as backdrop for your pictures.
Hire Tents
When the sun gets hot during the ceremony, you may be too engrossed in the event to the point of not noticing it. But some of your guests may feel uncomfortable and this dictates that you hire tents for such people. Most of the elderly people, including your old relatives and parents may be in need of a cool place to sit while following the proceedings.
Provide Water
High temperatures tend to dehydrate the body and as a result, many of your guests will need cool drinking water. Provide quality cold water for the guests to help them cool down the body heat and hydrate their systems, especially after dancing. You may want to customize some bottled water by including the guests’ names and maybe the wedding date on the labels. You can also provide slices of citrus fruits that are fresh as source of vitamins and minerals for your guests.
Beach-Themed Reception
In order to make your guests more relaxed and laid back, you can try to hold your reception at a swimming pool or a beach. This will provide refreshment to many who may want to take a dip to cool the temperatures. At such reception, you can try a barbecue with a variety of frozen drinks which can be served with small snacks.
