I love The Knot; not only is it one of the best online wedding resources around, but they are extremely helpful when planning your own special day.
Last month they unveiled their top 10 wedding trend predictions for the coming year. But I like to wait a little while to see if there are any amendments to prediction lists, as well as signs that they were right. Now that February has arrived, I think it is time to take a look.
These are the top 3 of the 10 predictions for 2012:
"Snow White" Dresses
This is thanks to movies like Mirror, Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman, showing a trend in releasing movies with the same theme in the same year. But the popularity of both (and the hype, as well) is sure to affect wedding gowns through 2012.
But I would go a step further and say that fairytale inspired dresses in general are likely to be big, especially with the popularity of shows like Once Upon A Time.
Forest Inspired Decor
For the same reasons, with the addition excitement over the release coming this year of The Hobbit, a woodsy feel for wedding decorations is being predicted. That means deep browns and soft greens, rich reds and dark flowers.
I, for one, like this trend. I have always found such color schemes and trends more enticing than the all-white or bright colored choices often made for weddings.
Watercolors
Thanks to Carolina Herrera, who introduced a number of watercolor prints as part of her 2012 wedding collection, such trends are very in right now. Especially for table decor, invitations and even dresses. All done in soft *****ls like pinks and yellows.
What do you think?
