The Baptist churches do not have a strong central governing authority, hence the beliefs aren't entirely consistent from one to church to another. This means that the restrictions (or lack thereof) depends upon the church or wedding officiant you've selected for your ceremony. Baptist church services range from traditional hymns, to southern gospel, to contemporary rock. Be strategic when selecting the church so that you can write the wedding vows in the way that you want. And no matter what, consult your pastor for some creative and religious direction.
According to the Baptist polity, any church can ordain and license a person to act as an ordained minister. With the license in hand, the person can perform any and all clergy duties. For the most part, their leniency extends to all of the ceremonial constituents, so take advantage, appoint a friend as the officiant, and write something meaningful and personal for your wedding.
"Will you, _______, have _____ to be your wife/husband? Will you love her/him, comfort and keep her/him, and forsaking all other remain true to him/her as long as you both shall live?" ("I will")
(Repeat) "I, ________, take thee ______, to be my wife/husband, and before God and these witnesses I promise to be a faithful and true wife/husband."
(Rings) "With this ring I thee wed, and all my worldly goods I thee endow. In sickness and in health, in poverty or in wealth, 'til death do us part."
