Thread: Would you ever want to sell your wedding dress?

I can't decide if I'd buy or rent mine. It seems such a big expense to buy although I would like to be the first person that wore mine and not the tenth or whatever. I discovered online that you can buy and then later sell your wedding dress if you want to at sites like PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com. They for example charge a $25 listing fee until it sells. What do you think about this idea?

I think it's a good idea to have a place like that where you can do it. I'm not sure if I'd want to part with it though.

It used to be the tradition that you held on to your wedding dress to make a christening robe (baptism gown some call it) for your baby. I like that idea. It keeps the dress in the family and the christening robe can be passed down from one child to the next, and then generation after generation.

Sure, I'd sell mine! I'd advertise it in the local paper first and see if I could sell it through that. It would be less hassle to have a local personcome pick it up and pay for it than doing it online. But if it didn't sell that way, why not?

Some of the wedding dresses do cost thousands as well because they are designer dresses and some are a few hundred. Use the search function to set a maximum price point.

Good tip, lightdancer. I did that out of curiosity to see what came up for the low end.

I liked this bargain from there. $250. Brand new too! It's amazing how many of these brides say they bought the dress then saw another one they liked better so are now selling the first choice.

LOL! Very funny, Claire. Bridezilla, I'm not sure about a halter neck on a dress but it's a fantastic price!
