Ways you could honor a deceased or missing person at a wedding

I'm sure this must come up often for brides and grooms.

Princess Diana was missing from her son’s royal wedding, and yet paradoxically she was in the forefront of our minds. Finding a balance between celebration and sorrow is tricky. Most people don’t know what to do.

“There are five keys to planning a wedding when someone is missing,” says Aurora Winter, a grief expert and author of From Heartbreak to Happiness. The missing person could be a parent, brother, sister, son, daughter, or grandparent. They might be dead, estranged, or ill. These five steps will help ensure the wedding is a success.

In summary, when you’re planning a wedding when someone is missing, be sure to get real, be proactive, honor the missing person, celebrate the wedding, and choose to be happy. These tips will help ensure that the wedding is a success.
The way I would think about it that they wouldn't want me to be unhappy on my wedding day because I missed them. Good article, Claire!

remember your loved once on your special day is something very special and this can make your day really memorable........One of my friend reserved few seats in the front row in her wedding and put the photographs of her grandparent with flowers and candles in front of the photographs.....I really like this idea to remember your loved once on your wedding day........

Awww! That is a beautiful gesture, giving them front row seats like that. Very thoughtful indeed.

My mom would agree with that!
