Do it like the Celebrities

Nothing says elegance and sophistication better than a celebrity wedding. For the most part, the rich and famous tend to know exactly where to find the best pastry and wedding cake designers in the country; many even going so far as to ship in their fabulous confections from Europe. The high demand for original designs by celebs such as Eva Longoria and Christina Aguilera, has only broadened the horizon for cake selection on a national and international level. Presently, it's quite possible to get the same or similar cake creation as your favorite celebrity without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money!

One of the most elaborate celebrity wedding cakes was made for Donald Trump and Melania Knauss. Their five-foot orange Grand Marnier chiffon cake has been the talk of the town for years. One couple (Katherine and Hao Nguyen) were inspired by Trump's ultra-lavish wedding affair, and sought to imitate it in almost every aspect. Their cake, though not quite as large or as impeccable, is still highly akin to the Trump's and boastful in it's own exquisite quality. Both stand proudly at seven glorious tiers, entirely bedecked in hand-crafted white roses made from sugar paste and covered in white chocolate fondant.

Another cake that caused a creative dissonance in the wedding world was none other than Pink and Carey Hart's illustrious black and pink, punk-rock cake. Engaged couple, Corinne Tang and Daniel Taylor, desired a less-traditional theme with which to carry out their special celebration. After flipping through a magazine, she came across Pink's wedding cake and reception setting, and was immediately prompted into action. Although her final wedding cake end-product wasn't exactly the same, it's still reminiscent of the rock-and-roll result that the bride and groom was going for.

There are many more celebrity wedding cakes out there from which to choose from. Remember, it's not important that you imitate an exact replica of the cake that you see, but that you take their idea and make it your own.
